April Fools Day, what have your kids tried

Postby Mel on Tue Apr 01, 2008 11:42 am

Today is April Fools day and I'm curious what tricks your kids have tried to pull on you today? Mine are teenagers and no longer bother with us "old folks" but they used to have a ton of tricks up their sleeve when they were younger. The ol' "mom you have a bug on you!" comes to mind but there were several of them... many, complete groaners but we played along anyway.

Did your kids try to trick you today? Did they succeed?

My 6 year old son got his father this morning before going to school. He told my husband that he had something on his face and my husband kept asking him where, he was walking to a mirror to look when my son yelled out "April Fools".

He was excited about going to school today to play some other tricks. I'll be interested to know what he did. :)

I just logged on and was going to start a post on the same subject! My kids seemed to think this was practical joke day and not April Fools Day. After finding holes in the paper cups (read milk all over the kitchen counter) and toothpaste on my daughter's kitchen chair (from the brother she has been fighting with) I explained that they were supposed to fool people with words and not actions. Someone did get me at work (my non WAHM job). I had an employee call and say she was quitting and was walking off the job immediately. Only after I tried to talk her out of it did she say April Fools! Only in health care could you pull that kind of trick without the risk of someone taking you up on it! Looking forward to April 2nd!

The worst trick my kids played was actually on my mom. My daughter called her told her she broke her arm. Of course my mom believed her and was ready to send care packages until my daughter said "April fools"

Amazingly I escaped the April Foolery of my children.... not sure how that happened. Of course they tried to April Fool each other all day.

I did zero internet surfing during the day -lol- I knew that there was high chance anything I read would be a fool anyway

Loretta,

I had an odd happening online yesterday. I read a few different message boards. Someone posted for a web critique. Ok...this is common. So, I clicked his site and the first line I saw was "This site is being sold, click here for more details". I clicked off the site and posted to him that I didn't understand why he wanted a critique when he was selling the site. He posted back and said "oh you should've clicked, it said 'April Fools'"

Hmmm not a chance in the world I'll go back and offer my thoughts. Had his original post indicated he had that there for his clients, I would've provided a critique.

Some "jokes" can end up costing you. No other person provided him a critique.

We are empty nesters so my daughter didn't prank me at all, however my hubby got me a few times yesterday!
