business.
According to the American Pet Products Manufacturers
Association Inc. (APPMA™) 63% of US
households own a pet......that's nearly 70 million homes.
45% of US
households own more than one pet. There are more than 73 million dogs
and 90 million cats in the United States. |
Most of us think of our pets as members of the family. More than 50%
of dog owners than 40% of cat owners will purchase holiday gifts for
their pets this year. Pet owners are buying high-end items like faux
furs and designer birdcages and paying extra attention to grooming
with the use of cleansing cloths, air fresheners, and manicures for
pets. Specialty foods address the needs of kittens, older animal, and
those with special dietary needs.
