What is Keyword Density?
Keyword density is an analysis of the number of times a
particular word appears in relation to your web page content. It is
reported as a percentage.
For example, if you had a page with 1000 words, and your keyword
appeared 10 times, then you would have a keyword density of 5%.
Keyword density will vary from search engine to search engine
because some search engine index "stop words", while others do not
(Stop words are words like "a", "at", "the", etc.)
Meticulously counting your keyword density is not necessary to
secure decent search engine rankings, but it is a statistic to take
note of. Opinions will vary, but many recommend a keyword density
between 1 and 7% for your chosen keywords.
